Bad drainage is one of those problems that sneaks up on you. Water pools near the driveway, the ground stays soft longer than it should, and that low-lying area near your pond just becomes a soggy mess. It looks rough, and it gets worse every time it rains.

That's exactly what we were dealing with here. The pond area had gotten overgrown and the grade wasn't moving water in the right direction - it was letting it sit and cause problems instead of flowing toward the pond where it belongs. Before any grading could happen, we had to clear out the overgrowth and work the organics back into the soil. That step matters more than most people realize. It sets the foundation for how the ground holds and behaves long after the equipment is gone.

Once the area was cleared and prepped, we got to work on correcting the grade. The goal was straightforward - get water moving from the driveway down toward the pond in a controlled, intentional way. That kind of slope has to be dialed in. Too little pitch and water still stagnates. Too much and you create erosion problems. We used the Kubota track loader to work the surface precisely, making sure the finished grade was consistent across the entire area.

What you end up with is a property that actually functions the way it should. Water goes where it's supposed to go. The ground around the driveway stays firmer. The pond area is clean and accessible instead of overgrown and waterlogged. Good grading and site prep work like this isn't flashy, but it protects your property and keeps it usable year-round.
