Soft, muddy parking areas are a headache. Vehicles sink in, the ground gets chewed up after rain, and it just looks rough. That's exactly what we were dealing with here - a parking area that had seen better days and needed a real fix, not a patch job.

We came in with the excavator and plate compactor and got to work. The existing ground was graded out, the soft spots were addressed, and the whole area was shaped into a clean roundabout layout that actually makes sense for how the property is used. A roundabout setup means no awkward three-point turns, no backing out blind - just a smooth, easy loop in and out.

The gravel was spread and compacted in passes using the plate compactor. That step matters a lot. Skipping compaction is how you end up with a surface that shifts and ruts out within a few months. Doing it right means the material locks together and holds up over time - even with regular vehicle traffic.

End result is a surface that's firm, functional, and looks sharp. The whole footprint of the parking area has a clean edge to it now, and the roundabout flow gives the property a more finished, intentional feel. It's one of those upgrades that's easy to overlook until you have it - and then you wonder how you dealt without it.

This is the kind of dirt work and site prep we do all the time. Whether it's a simple gravel driveway, a full parking area overhaul, or a roundabout like this one, the goal is always the same - build it right so it lasts.
